Welcome to the Division of Air and Waste Management’s web site. Our Division covers almost all issues related to air, from issuing permits for air emissions to sampling air quality. On the waste management side of the Division, we permit landfills, waste transporters, and under and above ground storage tanks, and we clean up tire piles and sites that have been contaminated due to releases of hazardous substances. We also have staff whose sole purpose is preventing catastrophic releases of chemicals, others who work with other emergency responders when there’s a fire or a spill at a facility with chemicals onsite, and still more staff who respond when there fire or spill occur.
We have tried to design our web site so that there are at least five ways to get to any information you are trying to find. We are always looking to improve our web pages and to get information online that's most frequently sought.
